ccm for leaders & leadership teams
How can I develop my skills as an evocative leader...?
How can we develop our abilities to work as a creative team...?
ccm is a highly effective way of developing evocative leaders and creative teams.
Evocative Leadership
Being an evocative leader is a matter of both awareness and skill. We need to deepen our self-awareness so we can learn to see and understand the impact of our unconscious patterns and habits; and we need to develop our skills so we can evoke our allied energies at will in the moment.
Evocative leaders love life. They are open to new experiences, seek meaning and find purpose. They are able to free themselves from an attachment to the known and an aversion to the unknown. Their attention is positive, open and generative as opposed to defensive, selective and wary. They have an ability to play, and understand that through play we discover ourselves and become more than ourselves. They have the courage and capability to breakthrough social and cultural conventions, determined to realise their highest potential, and inspire others to do the same.
Evocative leaders know how to stand at the centre of their leadership circle in a continuous state of readiness or emptiness. This gives them an unimpeded understanding - a wisdom - enabling them to listen to life.
Creative Teams
Being a creative team is also a matter of both awareness and skill, for teams often fall into ritualistic habits, for example sitting in the same chair in team meetings. In large companies this also manifests as agenda filled meetings, which are highly operational in focus and nature, sitting around a table with laptops and endless powerpoint presentations. We look up when, or if, the topic is seemingly relevant and important to our specific areas of responsibility. This way of working is highly efficient when it comes to task based activities.
A creative team however rarely looks and feels like this. Instead it works as a whole, leveraging the diversity of talent and experience in the team. It focuses on strategy, innovation, people and learning as key federal multipliers of value, competitive advantage and productivity. As they sit in a circle, the team very quickly moves beyond politeness into generative dialogue and breakthrough thinking. This more often than not includes a heightened sense of foresight and timing, as well as an emotional intelligence to work creatively with ambiguity and uncertainty. This way of working is central and essential for pursuing and leading strategies that have innovation at their core.
